Our fundamental business practice is to create and maintain long term relationships with our public, private and institutional clientele. We have have more than 40 municipal clients and currently have several general civil engineering contracts with various cities in this area. Additionally, CMA maintains a successful relationship with the Seminol Tribe of Florida, who we proudly service. Some of the tasks included under these contracts range from planning, design, construction administration, landscape architecture, underground and above ground facilities such as stormwater drainage systems, sanitary sewer collection and transmission systems, water distribution systems, roadways, streetscaping, traffic controls, parking facilities, lighting, and marine facilities. We can provide permitting, maintenance of traffic design and construction inspection/administration services to support all aspects of the project from start to finish. CMA’s goal for continuing service contracts is to provide responsive service and meet our clients' needs as it relates to their schedule and budget constraints. Several of the major municipal projects that we have performed over the years are highlighted below.
Coral Springs, FL Since 2005, CMA has served as the City Engineer for Coral Springs. Beginning in February 2012, the firm has also started to provide planning support for the City of Coral Springs Community Development Department.
Pinecrest, FL CMA reviewed the conditions of the existing parking lot and drainage system for Pinecrest Gardens, located at the former location for Parrot Jungle park. After analysis and assessment, the scope of the project included phased stormwater improvements on SW 57th Avenue and within the existing parking including strategic locations for exfiltration trench and stormwater improvements.
Aventura, FL CMA provided civil engineering services as part of the PGAL team to work on the proposed parking garage to serve the municipal center, library and police station for the City of Aventura, Florida. The project proposed a 200 car parking garage (one additional deck) adjacent to Aventura’s Government Center building located at 19200 West Country Club Drive in Aventura.
Ft. Lauderdale, FL. CMA provided site development services for the replacement of Fire Station 3 in the City of Fort Lauderdale. This project involved full site planning and engineering design, including paving, grading, drainage, water and wastewater design. The project was complicated by the fact that the City constructed the new station on the same site as the existing station, so there was a partial drainage certification utilizing temporary storage.
Riviera Beach, FL. CMA is assisting the city of Riviera Beach Utility District (RBUD) with coordinating the relocation of underground utilities which are in conflict with the proposed road widening project for Martin Luther King Junior Boulevard. The widening is being performed by Florida Department of Transportation.
Miami Gardens, FL. CMA updated the City Stormwater Utility Fee and created a tax roll for collection through the County Property Appraiser. CMA collected the latest parcel data and high resolution aerial from the County. All non-residential properties were digitized for impervious areas. All properties were categorized according to land use and the appropriate formulas were applied per land use to calculate stormwater fees.
