Training

Chen and Associates offers training programs in four different fields: Geographic Information Systems (GIS), National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES), Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), and various courses in first aid. In the last two years, Chen and Associates is proud to have offered training to nearly every municipality in Broward County.

GIS

ArcGIS Desktop is ESRI’s full-featured GIS software for visualizing, creating, managing, and analyzing geographic data. This course provides the foundation for becoming a successful ArcGIS Desktop user. Students learn fundamental GIS concepts and become familiar with the range of functionality available in the software. In course exercises, they work with ArcGIS Desktop and see how it provides a complete GIS software solution.

Those completing this course will be able to

• Describe the structure of ArcGIS Desktop software.
• Display geographic data.
• Query a GIS database.
• Edit geographic data.
• Associate tables using joins and relates.
• Create maps, reports, and graphs.

National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System

The National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) permit program controls water pollution by regulating point sources that discharge pollutants into waters of the United States. With the ever increasing water shortages and regulator restrictions, Chen and Associates is leading the way in training and implementation of the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) program. Chen and Associates has a staff geared to engineering the best  possible solution for tomorrow’s ecosystem and today’s development. Our director of construction services, Marcus Austin, G.C., is a National NDPES trainer who works with the engineers to develop a sediment control plan for  every project.

Occupational Safety and Health Administration

This course provides training and education in occupational safety and health for federal and state compliance officers, state consultants, other federal agency personnel, and the private sector.

First Aid

From CPR to first aid training, Red Cross training offers complete, flexible programs that help your company stay prepared for virtually any life-threatening situation. First Aid/CPR/AED training courses combine lecture, demonstrations and video with hands-on training in a ‘practice-while-you-watch’ format.
