Dr. Ben Chen, P.E., BCEE was awarded the Florida Institute of Consulting Engineers Community Service Award. He was presented with this award at the Florida Engineering Society's Annual Conference in August. The award honors individuals that have been involved in community service such as boards, commissions, or community groups and have demonstrated a sustained commitment to their communities. The winner also had to be perceived as a leader by the public in their communities; active in local, county, or state government; and served to influence decision-making on issues other than professional. Dr. Chen’s commitment to Workforce One, the Broward City County Management Association, Florida Engineering Society, and the Broward League of Cities have presented him with valuable opportunities to contribute to the community.
