Chen & Associates is a growing civil and environmental engineering consulting firm that is a certified SDBE Firm in Broward, Miami-Dade and Palm Beach counties. The chairman of the firm, Dr. Ben Chen, P.E., DEE, is a registered professional civil engineer with advanced degrees in Civil and Environmental Engineering. He has extensive experience in the field and a practical, hands-on background that gives him the ability to investigate and use the latest technology in his studies and designs.
Mr. Peter Moore, P.E. serves as president/principal engineer for the firm with duties encompassing project management and firm administration. Mr. Moore has completed the design and construction of various civil engineering projects for municipal clients throughout Southeast Florida.
In his duties as branch manager and senior engineer, Mr. Jason McClair, P.E., brings to the firm his civil and geotechnical knowledge from eight years of engineering experience within South Florida. Mr. Oscar Bello, P.E. is a senior engineer and brings his experience in designing and managing multi-million dollar neighborhood improvement projects. Also a senior engineer, Mr. James H. Barton, P.E. brings over 12 years of domestic and international experience to Chen and Associates including civil, environmental and GIS projects. Talia Garcia, P.E. is currently a senior engineer with Chen and Associates. Her experience includes engineering inspection, document control, surveying, and assisting with project management. Safiya Goombs, P.E., a senior engineer, has extensive experience with neighborhood improvement projects which consist of roadway and sidewalk design, drainage design, water design and sewer design. Michael Buick, P.E. recently joined Chen and Associates as a senior engineer in our Miami Beach office. His recent experience includes designing site paving, grading and drainage and site utility plans; and completing application forms and processing applicable permits with city departments and state agencies for land development projects. Marcus Austin, G.C., Director of Construction Services, obtained his General Contractor’s License to expand the firm’s construction management capabilities.
